INTRODUCTION

For more than 40 years, SOA has engaged in construction and city design/planning, seeking to contribute to the improvement of the lives of people. Today, global environment issues are considered to be one of the most important themes facing us. To actively address these issues, SOA has placed this theme as a pillar in our planning. Over the past 20 years, SOA has carried out independent studies on the theme “coexistence of forest and city,” and has established development techniques to achieve this theme. Today, there are a number of projects where this has been put into practice. Furthermore, by creating techniques called “joint development which creates activities” from the standpoint of development proposals which lead to successful business, SOA has recommended these as the planning framework for many projects, and put these into practice. Many of our independent studies which have been carried out over many years have become incorporated as SOA know-how, and can be applied and developed for various fields, contributing to the creation of unique proposals. In response to major changes of the times, SOA seeks to grow as an organization by retaining its roots and creating new and original ideas.
